The discount engine lets you build practically any wholesale promotion by combining simple pieces, without touching prices product by product. From the volume discount —the heart of wholesale— to 2x1, combos, free shipping, coupons and promotions for specific customers. Each rule calculates itself in the cart and is shown clearly to your buyers.
This is the getting-started guide. Each aspect has its own article linked below.
Note: The discount engine is enabled per business. If you don't see it in your panel yet, write to support to enable it in your store.
The five pieces of a discount
Every discount is built by answering five questions. You don't have to fill them all in: anything you leave empty means "no restriction".
| Piece | Question | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Audience | Who does it apply to? | VIP customers, price list, first purchase, segments, payment method |
| Validity | When is it active? | Always, a date range, Saturdays, a time window, Black Friday |
| Scope | On which products? | The whole cart, products, categories, variants, lists |
| Condition | What does the cart have to meet? | Always, minimum quantity, minimum amount, volume levels, complete combo |
| Effect | What discount is applied? | Percentage, fixed amount, fixed price, 2x1, combo, shipping, gift |
Since these are independent pieces, you combine them to express exactly the promotion you need. For example: "10% on Saturdays, only for customers on the Premium list, on the Beverages category, when they buy 12 units or more" is a single rule.
Automatic or with a code
When you create the discount you choose how customers get it:
- Automatic: it applies on its own to anyone who qualifies, without the customer doing anything.
- With a coupon code: the customer enters a code at checkout to activate it. See Coupon codes.
A single discount can be automatic and also have coupon codes.
The name and the label
- Name: internal identification, only you see it in the panel.
- Customer label: what the buyer sees in their cart and in the order confirmation (for example, "Wholesale discount"). You can add an icon to it.
Priority between discounts
In the discount list, the order defines the priority: if two discounts can't be combined, the one higher up wins. Drag the rows to reorder them. The full combination logic is in Stacking, priority and limits.
Step by step
Go to Discounts → New discount. You can start from a ready-made template (recommended) or from scratch. The wizard guides you through: the basics → audience → validity → scope → condition → effect → test and review. In the last step you simulate a real cart and review errors or suggestions before saving.

Frequently asked questions
Is the discount subtracted before or after taxes? Before. It's applied on the net and taxes are recalculated on the already-discounted amount.
What happens if I edit an order that's already been created? Discounts stay frozen as they were at purchase time. If you change quantities and want to recalculate, the engine runs again and records that a recalculation took place.
Do I need apps or plugins? No. The engine is built into the platform and works from day one.
