Structure your wholesale catalog with hierarchical categories so wholesale buyers can easily find what they are looking for. Good category organization speeds up the purchasing process and lets your wholesale customers efficiently navigate an extensive catalog, which is common in distribution, import, or manufacturing operations.
How it works
Categories are organized in a tree structure, where each category can contain subcategories. This allows you to create navigation levels such as "Hardware > Power Tools > Drills" or "Food > Beverages > Juices". Products are assigned to one or more categories from their editing form.
From the category management section you can create, edit, reorder, and hide categories. Each category has its own page in the wholesale portal that displays the products it contains, making it easy for wholesale buyers to explore your catalog in an organized way.
Visual customization for each category lets you define how its page looks in the portal, including header images, colors, and promotional banners for both desktop and mobile devices. This allows you to highlight wholesale promotions, supplier novelties, or seasonal clearances within each section of your catalog.
Available options
Name and visibility: Assign a name to each category and use the hide toggle so it does not appear in the wholesale portal navigation. This is useful for preparing seasonal categories before activating them or hiding product lines you no longer carry.
Google taxonomy: Link each category to the Google taxonomy to improve integration with Google Shopping and other product discovery services.
Visual customization: Configure a header image with colors, a background image with background color, and banners with desktop and mobile versions. Banners support links, margins, and rounded corners. Use these elements to communicate wholesale promotions, special terms, or new product lines.
Product display: Choose the number of columns to display products and the sort order: manual, alphabetical (A-Z), by price ascending or descending, or by publication date (newest first). Manual sorting is especially useful for positioning fast-moving or higher-margin products first.
Drag-and-drop reordering of products: When you enter a category from Store mode as a manager, you see a four-arrows button that activates the reorder mode. Drag products with the mouse to move them, then click the same button again to confirm the new manual order.
Copy category link: From Store mode you can enter a category and copy its exact URL using the Copy link button. This is useful for sharing a direct link to a category with your wholesale buyers via WhatsApp, email, or social media.
Tips
- Avoid creating too many levels of subcategories. Two or three levels are usually enough for clear navigation. Wholesale buyers value finding products quickly, not navigating complex structures.
- Organize categories to reflect your wholesale business logic: by product line, by brand, by supplier, by use type, or by whatever criteria feels natural to your customers.
- Use banners to highlight wholesale promotions, stock clearances, or special terms within each category.
- Manual sorting lets you position products strategically, placing fast-moving items, higher-margin products, or new arrivals you want to push to your wholesale buyers first.
